



Joe is a passionate performer specializing in all clarinets, saxophones, flute and trumpet and has played professionally since 1975. He enjoys injecting his unique style into Jazz, Rock, and Classical Standards.
College Years –Studied formally with clarinetists David Dworkin and Herbert Blayman and performed at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz festival.
Music Education – Taught 40 years in various elementary, middle, and high schools in New Jersey. Nine years of that time he was Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts. (Note: See Resume below)
The Ablemen – Recently ended an extensive 31 year series of weekends performing with the wedding band/polka/party band called The Ablemen from Emerson, NJ which won the battle of the polka bands in Hunter Mountain in the years 1997-1999.
Various Ensembles – With the retirement of the Ablemen band, Joe leads and plays actively with the Tony Neglia Italian Band and the Passaic County Marching Band. He also performs in community concert bands in the North Jersey towns of Rutherford, Oakland, Allendale, and Bloomingdale.
Other Notable Acts – Clark Terry, The Four Tops, The Golden Boys of Bandstand, Buddy Rich, Al Martino, Bucky Pizzarelli, Jon Faddis, Lou Marini, Al Cohen, Julius LaRosa and many others as a sideman.

Joe plays many off Broadway shows in various high schools and professional theater groups and has experience playing clarinet in community orchestras for opera and regular orchestral concerts and free-lance club dates. Contact Joe if you need a substitute.
Retired from public music education and is working as a repair technician, teaches private lessons at O’Dibella Music Store and assists in woodwind repairs.
During his teaching career he had been the catalyst and sponsor for dozens of students participating in Regional Middle and High School Bands and Orchestras. He is currently Program Director of O’Dibella’s Music School and is always open to private lessons with new pupils.
